Installation problems come down to a short list of causes. Find the message or symptom that matches yours.

Nothing happens when I tap Install

One-touch install opens your phone’s own eSIM setup. If nothing opens:
  • You’re on a computer. The install button only works on the phone itself. Show the QR code on the computer and scan it with the phone instead: iPhone · Android.
  • Your Android phone doesn’t support one-touch setup. A few models don’t. Use Install on another device in the app (or Manual setup on the website) and follow the manual steps.
  • The phone doesn’t support eSIM at all. See Does my phone support eSIM?

”This code is no longer valid”, “already installed” or “profile already downloaded”

The eSIM is already on a phone. Each eSIM can only be installed once. If that phone is the one in your hand and you deleted the eSIM from it, you can re-add it. If it’s a different phone, the eSIM has to stay there. See I deleted my eSIM, or installed it on the wrong phone.

”Unable to complete”, “couldn’t download eSIM” or it just spins

The download needs a steady internet connection and a few seconds of patience.
1

Check you're online

Join Wi-Fi, or make sure your normal SIM’s mobile data is working. Open a web page to be sure.
2

Try again after a restart

Restart the phone and tap Install again. This clears a surprising number of one-off failures.
3

Update your phone

Older iOS and Android versions have eSIM bugs that later updates fixed. Install any pending update, then try again.
4

Try the other method

If one-touch setup keeps failing, scan the QR code or enter the code manually: iPhone · Android.

”Add eSIM” isn’t in my settings, or it says my carrier doesn’t allow it

Your phone is most likely carrier-locked. A locked phone can’t use another provider’s eSIM: some refuse to install it, others install it and then never connect. If the phone came on a plan, ask your carrier to unlock it; in Australia this is free once the plan’s conditions are met. If the phone is unlocked and the option still isn’t there, the model may not support eSIM. See Does my phone support eSIM?

It installed, but shows “No Service”

That’s normal before your trip. See My eSIM says “No Service” and I haven’t left yet.
