Before purchasing a Roamly eSIM, you’ll want to make sure your device actually supports it. The good news is that most smartphones released since 2018 come with eSIM built in. Here’s how to quickly check, plus a full list of supported devices.

Quick check

iPhone

Go to Settings > General > About. If you see an “Available SIM” or “Digital SIM” section, your iPhone supports eSIM.

Android

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs. If you see an option to “Add eSIM” or “Download SIM”, your device supports eSIM.

Supported devices

Apple

  • iPhone XS, XR and later (including iPhone Air)
  • iPad Pro (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad (7th generation and later)
  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)

Samsung

  • Galaxy S20 and later
  • Galaxy Note 20 and later
  • Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series
  • Galaxy A54 and later

Google

  • Pixel 3a and later

Other brands

  • Most recent models from OnePlus, Motorola, OPPO, Xiaomi, and Sony

Important requirements

Before you buy, there are two things to double-check:
  • Your device must be carrier-unlocked. If you bought your phone on a plan, check with your carrier that it’s been unlocked. Locked devices cannot use third-party eSIMs like Roamly.
  • You need Wi-Fi to install. The eSIM profile is downloaded over the internet, so make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection during installation.
