# APN settings

> Almost always automatic. When to check it, where to find your plan's APN, and how to enter it on iPhone and Android.

The APN (Access Point Name) is the address your phone uses to reach the internet through a mobile network. Your Roamly eSIM sets it automatically when it installs, so most people never see it.

## When it's worth checking

Only if you have **signal bars on the Roamly line but nothing loads**: the phone is registered on the network, but data isn't flowing. If you have No Service, the APN isn't the problem; see [Just landed and no data? Start here](/troubleshooting/at-your-destination/no-data-start-here).

## Where to find your plan's APN

It's on your plan page, under **Technical**:

* **App:** open the plan → **More → Technical**.
* **Website:** open the eSIM at [onroamly.com/my-esims](https://onroamly.com/my-esims) and scroll to the Technical card.

## Check or enter it

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="iPhone">
    Settings → Mobile → your Roamly line → **Mobile Data Network**. The **APN** field under Mobile Data should match the value on your plan page. If it's blank or different, type it in exactly, leave username and password empty, and go back.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Android">
    Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → your Roamly SIM → **Access Point Names**. (Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Access Point Names.) If the listed APN doesn't match your plan page, tap **+** to add one: name it *Roamly*, set **APN** to the value from your plan page, leave everything else default, save, and select it.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Still no data after the APN is right?

<Steps>
  <Step title="Toggle the Roamly line off and on">
    Wait ten seconds in between.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check Data Roaming is on for the Roamly line">
    See [Data roaming: why it must be on](/troubleshooting/settings/data-roaming).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Restart the phone" />

  <Step title="Reset network settings (last resort)">
    This clears saved Wi-Fi passwords and network preferences, so do it only if nothing else worked. iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. Android: Settings → System → Reset options → Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Then [contact us](https://onroamly.com/contact) with your phone model, the country and a screenshot of the APN screen.
