# My eSIM shows "No Service" at my destination

> Roaming off, the wrong data line, or a network that won't connect. How to check each, and when it's coverage.

**No Service** on the Roamly line at your destination almost always means the phone isn't allowed to use the local network yet, or is trying the wrong one. Check these in order.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Is the line actually on?">
    * **iPhone:** Settings → Mobile → your Roamly line → **Turn on this Line** must be on.
    * **Android:** Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → your Roamly SIM → **Use this SIM** on. (Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager.)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is Data Roaming on for that line?">
    Without it the phone won't register on a foreign network at all, and shows No Service.

    * **iPhone:** your Roamly line → **Data Roaming** on.
    * **Android:** your Roamly SIM → **Roaming** on. (Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming.)

    It costs nothing extra on the Roamly line. See [Data roaming: why it must be on](/troubleshooting/settings/data-roaming).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Is network selection set to Automatic?">
    If you (or the phone) picked a network manually somewhere along the way, it may be one your plan can't use.

    * **iPhone:** your Roamly line → **Network Selection** → **Automatic** on.
    * **Android:** your Roamly SIM → **Automatically select network** on. (Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network operators → Select automatically.)

    Then flick Airplane Mode on and off. If Automatic keeps landing on a network that won't connect, do the reverse and [choose one from your plan's list by hand](/troubleshooting/settings/choose-a-network-manually).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Restart the phone">
    A restart forces a fresh network search. Give it a minute after it comes back.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## If it's still No Service

* **Check the plan covers this country.** Your plan page shows the countries. A Japan plan won't connect in Korea.
* **Check the plan hasn't expired or run out.** Also on the plan page. See [What happens when my plan expires?](/managing/plan-expires)
* **Check coverage.** Rural areas, islands and some borders have patchy or no coverage for any network. Try again in a town.
* **Is the phone carrier-locked?** A locked phone can sometimes install an eSIM but never connect with it. See [Does my phone support eSIM?](/getting-started/does-my-phone-support-esim)

Then [contact us](https://onroamly.com/contact) with your phone model, the country you're in and a screenshot of the Roamly line's settings.

## Still at home?

No Service before your trip is normal. See [My eSIM says "No Service" and I haven't left yet](/troubleshooting/before-you-go/no-service-before-you-leave).
