# Earn and spend Roam Coins

> Roam Coins are travel credit. You earn them on every purchase and spend them at checkout. Every dollar in coins is a dollar off.

Roam Coins are Roamly's travel credit. You earn them automatically on every purchase and spend them at checkout.

## How you earn

Every eSIM plan and top-up earns coins as cashback on what you pay:

* **Silver:** 5% back
* **Gold:** 7.5% back
* **Platinum:** 10% back

Cashback is worked out on the amount you actually pay. If part of an order is covered by a discount code or by coins you're spending, you earn on the rest.

## When coins arrive

Within a few minutes of your payment going through. You don't have to install or activate the eSIM first. Each earn shows as a line in your rewards history.

## How to spend them

At checkout, tap **Roam Coins** to apply your balance to the order. If your coins cover the whole order, you pay nothing. If they cover part of it, the rest goes on your card as usual, with one small rule: at least \$0.50 has to stay on the card, because card payments can't go lower than that. You can take the coins off again before paying if you'd rather save them.

## Do they expire?

No. Roam Coins never expire, and there's no cap on how many you can hold. Your balance is the same on the website and in the app.

## Refunds

If an order is refunded, the coins it earned are reversed in proportion to the refund, and the refunded amount no longer counts toward your tier. Coins you spent on a fully refunded order go back into your balance. A chargeback works the same way as a refund.
