# Install with the Roamly Android app

> Open your plan and tap Install on this device. Android's Add eSIM flow opens with your Roamly eSIM ready.

The app is the easiest way to install: one tap hands the eSIM to Android, with nothing to scan or type. Do it at home before you travel, while you're online.

  <Step title="Open your plan">
    In the [Roamly app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onroamly.roamly), open the **My eSIMs** tab and tap your plan. When it's ready to install you'll see **Your eSIM is ready** at the top.

  <Step title="Tap Install on this device">
    Android's eSIM setup opens with your Roamly eSIM ready to download. Tap **Download** (some phones say *Add* or *Next*).

  <Step title="Follow the prompts">
    Android asks a couple of questions. Name the SIM something you'll recognise, like *Roamly* or the country you're visiting, and keep your normal SIM for calls and messages if asked. Roamly is data-only.

  <Step title="Leave the Roamly SIM off until you land">
    When Android confirms the eSIM is installed, open **Settings → Network & internet → SIMs** (Samsung: **Settings → Connections → SIM manager**), tap the Roamly SIM and make sure **Use this SIM** is off. The plan won't start until you turn it on and connect at your destination.

  <Step title="Turn off Roaming on your normal SIM">
    While you're still at home: on the same SIMs screen, tap your normal SIM and turn **Roaming** off (Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → **Data roaming**). That's the switch that stops your home carrier charging you overseas. If you won't need calls or texts on your number while you're away, you can turn **Use this SIM** off for that SIM instead; it comes back exactly as it was when you switch it on at home.

  Back in the app your plan now shows **Installed on your device**. That's it until you fly.

## When you land

Three switches get you online: turn the Roamly line on, select it for mobile data, and turn on Data Roaming for that line only. Follow [Just landed? How to activate your eSIM](/installing/when-you-land); the app shows the same steps on your plan page once the eSIM is installed.

## Something not working?

* No **Install on this device** button? Your plan is still being set up — it usually takes under five minutes. See [I paid but can't see my eSIM](/troubleshooting/before-you-go/cant-see-my-esim).
* Tapping the button did nothing? A few phones don't support one-touch setup. Use **Install on another device** to show the QR code, then follow [Install with a QR code or manual setup](/installing/android/qr-code-or-manual) using the manual code.
