# How Unlimited plans work

> Pick your days, connect, and use data without watching a counter. Each day starts at full speed; the pass runs from the moment you first connect.

An Unlimited plan is priced by the day rather than by the gigabyte. You choose how many days you need, and for each of those days you use data without counting it.

## What you get

* **Data for every day of your trip.** There's no total to run out of, no overage and nothing extra to pay.
* **Full speed each day.** Every day starts with a full-speed allowance, printed on the plan before you buy (for example, 1 GB a day). Use it up and your connection slows for the rest of that day rather than stopping: maps, messaging, email and browsing keep working; video and big downloads are best left until the next day.
* **A fresh day every 24 hours.** The allowance resets 24 hours after your pass first connected, not at midnight. Connect at 3 pm and each new day starts at 3 pm.
* **Hotspot included.** Share the connection with a laptop or a travel buddy; the day's allowance is shared across everything connected.

## Picking your days

Each destination's Unlimited plan has a day range, from a single day up to a month or more. Pick the number of days your trip needs; longer passes cost less per day. Not sure of your dates? Tap the calendar on the day picker, enter when you land and when you fly home, and it works the number out, with a spare day for delays if you want one.

## When it starts and ends

The pass starts the first time your phone connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy or install it, so you can set it up at home. A 7-day pass that first connects on Monday at 3 pm ends the following Monday at 3 pm. Your plan page shows how many days are left and when the next full-speed day begins. Like every plan, an unused pass has an **Activate by** date; see [What happens when my plan expires?](https://support.onroamly.com/managing/plan-expires.md).

## Trip running long?

Add days to the same eSIM any time before the pass ends: no new QR code, nothing to install. See [Add days to an Unlimited pass](https://support.onroamly.com/managing/add-days.md).

## Which is right for me?

* **Unlimited** suits longer trips, heavy users, and anyone who'd rather not think about a counter. Streaming, video calls home and hotspotting a laptop all fit.
* **A fixed-data plan** suits short trips and light use. It isn't slowed at any point, so if you want full speed for one big download it's the better pick. See [How much data do I need?](https://support.onroamly.com/countries-and-plans/how-much-data.md).

Unlimited plans are available for a growing list of destinations. Where a destination offers one, it appears on its page under **Unlimited plans**, and all of them are listed at [onroamly.com/unlimited](https://onroamly.com/unlimited).
