# Country vs regional plans: which should I buy?

> One country: a country plan is better value. Several: one regional plan with a shared allowance, no swapping at borders.

Roamly sells two kinds of plan. The right one depends on how many borders you're crossing.

## Country plans

Cover one country. If you're spending the whole trip in Japan, a Japan plan gives you the most data for your money.

## Regional plans

Cover every country in a region, for example *Europe* or *Asia-Pacific*, with one eSIM and one allowance shared across all of them. Cross a border and your phone just finds the next local network; nothing to install or switch.

## Which should I choose?

Rule of thumb: one country, buy the country plan; two or more, buy the regional plan and check its country list covers every stop, including layovers where you'll want data.

## Can I use a country plan in another country?

No. A Japan plan only connects in Japan. If your plans change and you cross into a country it doesn't cover, buy a plan for that country (or a regional one) while you still have Wi-Fi.
